Vic Firth Legacy Retractable Wire Brushes
When to choose it
Choose the Legacy if you like the feel of a wood handle but want to close the fan for storage. The medium-gauge wire and continuously adjustable spread let you compare a narrow fan for taps with a wider fan for sweeps on a compatible head.
The Vater VWTW also has a wood handle, but its fan is fixed. Choose by the fan and the handle if those are the changes you want from your current brush. Check the head or pad maker’s guidance before using metal wire.
