ProMark Cool Rods

When to choose it
Pick Cool Rods when you need a gentler attack than ProMark’s Hot Rods offer. Both use nineteen birch dowels, but Cool Rods use smaller dowels. That gives you a direct comparison for the same snare or cymbal part when the sound of the Hot Rods is more pronounced than you want.
The handle is also much narrower. At 0.425 inches, it is 0.125 inches slimmer than Hot Rods, even though both are 16 inches long. If your grip is already comfortable on the wider model, weigh that difference alongside the sound. Confirm the stock version if you want the updated playable cap.
